The Gardner location opened in 2008. Shawn Fischer and Leo Murray, two good friends, started the second location of Bret’s Autoworks. Shawn, general manager of both locations, met Leo when trying to fill a position for a technician opening at the Olathe Store in 2001. Bret Treadway started the original location in Olathe over 20 years ago.

Bret began working on cars from his home while attending MidAmerica Nazarene University. He enjoyed it so much he decided to open his own repair shop after he graduated. He knew the importance of providing high quality, honest repairs. Bret no longer makes the repairs himself, but he does continue to direct and advise, instilling Christian values in all we do.

Both Shawn and Leo live in the Gardner area. Like Bret, both men started working for auto repair shops during high school. Fischer graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Murray has been employed in the auto repair industry since those high school days. He is a certified service manager.

Honesty, personal integrity and faith are all key to everything that goes on at Bret's Autoworks.
